My goal is to truly change traditional psychiatry into Mental Wellness that takes into account the complete picture of your overall health.
Incorporating a holistic approach to psychiatry acknowledges the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of mental health. By addressing underlying causes and involving individuals in their treatment, holistic psychiatry empowers patients to take an active role in their healing process. This approach promotes comprehensive care, prevention strategies, and cultural sensitivity, ultimately leading to improved treatment outcomes and overall well-being.

During an initial intake with Natalie, the focus is on establishing rapport, understanding the client's concerns, and gathering relevant background information. The provider may ask about the client's presenting symptoms, medical history, current stressors, and goals for treatment. Additionally, they may discuss their approach to therapy or medication management, confidentiality, and expectations for the therapeutic relationship.
A holistic approach to managing medications for psychiatric patients considers the individual's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. It involves not only prescribing appropriate medications but also addressing lifestyle factors, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and therapy. This approach aims to promote overall wellness and optimize the therapeutic benefits of medications while minimizing adverse effects and supporting the individual's overall quality of life.
To improve mental health at home, one can engage in self-care practices such as mindfulness meditation, regular exercise, maintaining a healthy diet, establishing a sleep routine, practicing relaxation techniques, setting boundaries, seeking social support, pursuing hobbies, and seeking professional help when needed. Creating a supportive environment, setting realistic goals, managing stress, and engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment are also important for mental well-being.
