Getting Your Medications Back on the Same Refill Schedule
If your medications are currently due for refill at different times, we may be able to get your stable maintenance medications back onto the same 90-day refill schedule. This can reduce the number of separate trips to the pharmacy.
To help us safely coordinate your prescriptions, please do the following:
Count what you have at home.
For EACH medication prescribed by our office, please tell us:
- Medication name
- Strength (for example, 20 mg)
- How you take it (for example, 1 tablet every morning)
- Exactly how many tablets/capsules you have remaining today
Contact your pharmacy.
Please ask the pharmacy to confirm:
- The date the medication was last filled
- The quantity dispensed
- Whether you have any refills remaining
- Whether your insurance will allow a one-time short/partial fill to help synchronize your medications
Send us the information through Spruce.
You can copy and complete this for each medication:

Once we receive this information, our office will determine whether a short “bridge” prescription is appropriate and, if so, the quantity needed to help bring your eligible maintenance medications onto the same refill schedule.
Please do not skip doses, take extra doses, split tablets differently, or change how you take your medication in order to make the dates line up. Continue taking your medications exactly as prescribed unless your clinician tells you otherwise.
Important: Your stimulant or other controlled medication may remain on a separate dispensing schedule. The goal is primarily to synchronize eligible maintenance medications so that, when possible, you are not making multiple separate pharmacy trips throughout the month.
If your medication has already run out, you are unsure how you are supposed to take it, or the pharmacy says you cannot safely wait until the planned synchronization date, please contact our office rather than waiting for the next routine refill.
